School age Programs

In our unique program your child will learn about local flora and fauna, basic survival skills, ecosystems (including pond studies), environmental sustainability, animal husbandry & interaction, horticulture, seasonal shelter building, maple syrup making, outdoor sport and recreation, nature art and crafts, journaling & reflection, storytelling, community building and more, all within a nurturing and inclusive environment. There will be guided hikes and active times of games and exploration as part of every session. We let the seasons be our guide in terms of our activities, and keep character development and life application paramount.

Your children will LEARN BY DOING and have a wealth of Outdoor Experiential Education opportunities facilitated by an Ontario Qualified Teacher, and a practicing Veterinarian (Thursdays) or parent volunteer (Tuesdays).

Frequently Asked Question:

Can my child attend for only one day?

We are happy to meet new children and introduce them to our programs.  As space allows, we can accommodate children for one day of participation.   Availability varies week to week.  This option must be booked within 24  (prior students) or 48 (for new registrants) hours of the date the child wishes to attend.  This is a great option for children who aren't sure about attending and just want to check us out, or for those whose schedule does not permit a weekly commitment.
Space cannot be guaranteed week to week.

My child is in grade 5, which program should I choose?

If you need help deciding which program to apply for your child to attend, please contact us.  Please use our behaviour & safety agreement to assist you in your decision making, and make an honest assessment of your child's readiness to fully participate in all aspects of our programming.  It is much easier on everyone emotionally to start your child in our half day program and move them to our  full day program in consultation with our staff, than to have them moved out of our full day program.  In all of our programs we do expect full and willing participation throughout the day, and a positive contribution to our group culture.

My child has special needs, can they be accommodated?

If your child has special needs, please contact us directly to discuss their individual needs prior. to registering.
